Elements of Barn Architecture inspired the design of a very contemporary yet traditional longitudinal living pod. The entrance invites you through a camouflaged barn door which slips you behind the facade and shows you how the mix of materials in charred cladding, venetian plaster columns, polished concrete, natural timber screens and raked soaring ceilings all contribute to a timeless modern element of living.

You would be forgiven for not immediately identifying the entrance to this contemporary home. The design intent is purposefully deceptive so that the garage and entrance doors smoothly integrate into the front façade causing it to disappear from your immediate line of sight.

The bold frontage to the street frames the passage that has been set back to further disguise the entrance which unexpectedly leads you to an internal garden and entry breezeway constructed of natural timber.

A welcoming home softly reflecting the soul of the Pacific range of homes with iconic elevated ceilings and open plan living best suited to tropical climate. Both these core features provide natural ventilation and thermal mass thus increasing comfort and reducing energy costs.

Timber pergolas and chunky timber posts encapsulate the traditional islander huts with a mirage of contemporary coastal elements such as the colonial doors and windows. Feature polished floor seeded with white quartz, hardwood cabinetry and skylights in the kitchen with main living space and entertainment deck at the rear of the home.

The alfresco immediately adjoins the lounge, dining and kitchen which combines the indoor and outdoor living areas and maximizes the home entertaining space.

The footprint of the home permits perfect symmetry to the front and rear elevations and is one of the most important elements for providing balance and comfort. Spectacular raked ceilings support design flexibly and afford a variety of family living options.

With minimal changes to the external structure of the home the plans can be customized to accommodate a second level loft suspended above half the house, overlooking the kitchen and dining areas.
